2017 JAYCO JAY FLIGHT SLX Recall

Description of Recall: Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain model year 2017 Jay Flight SLX travel trailers, model 212 QBW, manufactured June 27, 2016, to June 28, 2016. The affected vehicles were manufactured with Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC) and Tire Labels indicating incorrect vehicle weight. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Conequence: Incorrect weight on labels can allow the operator to overload the vehicle, affecting vehicle handling, and increasing the risk of a crash.

Action Need To Fix It: Jayco has notified the dealers that have the affected trailers and supplied them with corrected labels, free of charge. The recall began July 6, 2016. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-2833-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901300.

2016 JAYCO JAY FLIGHT SLX Recall

Description of Recall: Jayco, Inc. (Jayco) is recalling certain 2016 Jay Flight SLX recreational trailers manufactured March 3, 2016, to April 20, 2016. The bolts that secure the propane tank to the trailer's A-frame may be missing lock washers, allowing the propane tank to loosen and detach from the vehicle.

Conequence: If the propane tank detaches from the trailer, there is an increased risk of a crash.

Action Need To Fix It: Jayco has notified owners, and dealers will install the lock washers to the two bolts that secure the propane tank to the A-frame, free of charge. The recall began on May 17, 2016. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901298.
