Item Affected: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:FOUNDATION COMPONENTS:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS

Date Announced: 02/03/1989

Description of Recall: THE OPTIONAL RIDE SYSTEM COMPONENT CAN ABRADE THE FLEXIBLE BRAKE HOSE THAT IS ROUTED FROM THE DIFFERENTIAL HOUSING TO THE CROSSMEMBER TO THE REAR OF THE REAR AXLE.

Conequence: ABRASION MAY CAUSE HOSE TO LOSE BRAKE FLUID AND THE REARWHEEL BRAKES TO BECOME INOPERABLE, INCREASING STOPPING DISTANCE WHICH MAY RESULTIN AN ACCIDENT.

Action Need To Fix It: RELOCATE FLEXIBLE BRAKE HOSE AND REPLACE INCORRECT FASTENERS.

Notes: SYSTEM: FLEXIBLE BRAKE HOSE.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORHOMES MOUNTED ON CHEVROLET CHASSIS AND EQUIPPED WITHTHE SENSORIDE SYSTEM/PARK LEVEL OPTION.

Description of Recall: THE BOLTS, WASHERS, AND NUTS USED TO INSTALL THE OPTIONAL REAR SWAY BAR ARE INCORRECT.

Conequence: FASTENERS MAY SEPARATE AND ALLOW REAR SWAY BAR TO FALLTO THE ROAD SURFACE, CAUSING A ROAD HAZARD WHICH MAY RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.

Action Need To Fix It: REPLACE INCORRECT FASTENERS.

Description of Recall: THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER HOIST COMPONENTS CAN BECOME LOOSE WHILE TRAVELING AND ALLOW THE SPARE TIRE TO MOVE FROM ITS STORED POSITION TO THE ROAD SURFACE.

Conequence: THE SPARE TIRE CAN CONTACT THE ROAD SURFACE INCREASING THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE TO THE FOLLOWING VEHICLES.

Action Need To Fix It: DEALERS WILL ADD A PRIMARY SPARE TIRE SUPPORT BRACKET.
